Wichita Falls has a big park system for a city of about 102,000. Lucy Park covers 170 acres in a bend of the Wichita River, with the falls, a duck pond, a log cabin and a disc golf course. Weeks Park has the 18-hole Champions Course, and Lake Wichita Park on the lake's north shore has an off-leash dog park.

The Circle Trail ties many of them together: more than 20 miles of 10-foot-wide concrete trail along the river and Holliday Creek, begun in Lucy Park in 1987. Nothing motorized is allowed except city vehicles.

For dirt, the volunteer-run Wee-Chi-Tah trail has about 11 miles of off-road loops. Riders travel opposite walkers, directions flip on Wrong-Way Wednesdays, and helmets are required.
